My Favorite Things...

Two posts tonight so please be sure to scroll down to see my entry to TECC #53 too!

I got fun surprise in the mail the other day when my sister (Maylee's Creative Corner) sent me a card with this My Favorite Things stamp set in it- I just had to make something with it right away! Here is the first card I created with it.

Supplies: How Sweet It is (My Favorite Things), Prima flowers, stickles

I couldn't stop at just one, so I decided to get my feet wet and participate in a new challenge for me on the Splitcoast Stampers website, a sketch challenge specifically for MFT stamps.

Here was the sketch:

And the card I made:

Supplies: How Sweet It Is (My Favorite Things), Guava dots patterned paper (Lasting Impressions), Swiss Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug- Provocraft), Glossy Accents (Inkssentials-Ranger Industries)

A good friend of another one of my sisters recently found out that she is expecting! My sister wanted a congrats card to give her and this is what I came up with!

Supplies: She's Expecting! (Studio G- Hampton Arts), Spring Blossoms (Inkadinkado), Thoughtful Messages (Hero Arts)

Holiday Catch Up!

Merry Christmas Eve!!!

(WARNING: Long post ahead!)

I thought I take the time to catch up on some things that I've been working on recently. Haven't had much time preparing for the holidays to update my blog as frequently as I like to. The past month has kept me busy with a few birthdays and finishing up my Christmas cards that I had posted a while back. But enough with the chit chat- here are the cards:

First off, one of my nieces had a birthday right before Thanksgiving- she's all about the Disney Princesses and even dressed up as one for Halloween so I knew exactly what I had to do!

Supplies: Snow White & Pretty as a Princess (EK Success), Bloom Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug-Provocraft)

Another niece a few weeks later turned the big 1-0!

Supplies: Straw Hat Bear (Penny Black), Birthday Messages (Hero Arts)

A good friend turned 30! (Sorry for the blurry picture- it was a quick shot before we went out to her party!)

Supplies: Cat on the Moon (Penny Black), Happy Birthday embossing folder (Cuttlebug-Provocraft)

On to the Christmas-related cards. A few weeks back Hero Arts had a last-minute gift challenge these are a few that I entered and some others I did as I needed them!

Supplies: Let it Snow; Holiday Gift Tags (Hero Arts), Merriest...(Penny Black),

This one opens up with a pocket inside to slide a gift card into.

Supplies: Let it Snow (Hero Arts), Snowflakes embossing folder (Cuttlebug-Provocraft)

Supplies: Let it Snow (Hero Arts)

Supplies: Christmas Characters (Inkadinkado), Heard from the Heart (Stampin' Up!), Snowflakes embossing folder (Cuttlebug-Provocraft)

I wish you all a wonderful Christmas holiday!

One Sketch- 2 Snowmen

Hi all- hope everyone had a fun, turkey-filled Thanksgiving!

Since it was a nice LONG weekend, it made for some good crafting time. Didn't get as much as I would have liked- but the night isn't over yet! I did find some time to squeeze in a card for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge (#44):

Supplies: Christmas Characters (Inkadinkado), Scallop Circle die (Nestabilities- Spellbinders), Ticket corner punch (Stampin' Up!), Snowflake embossing folder (Cuttlebug-Provocraft), Stickles (Ranger Industries)

Using the same sketch, I also used it for the Hero Arts challenge last week for the "last minute gifts" theme. I found these cute boxes at Borders Bookstore in the clearance section, they're the size to hold a CD. I covered it with blue cardstock, added some stamping and came up with this:

Supplies: Let it Snow (Hero Arts), Snowflakes (Inkadinkado), Scallop Circle die (Nestabilities-Spellbinders), Versamark Dazzle Frost ink (Tsukineko)

Thanks for stopping in!

Just for FUN!

I decided to take a bit of a break from the challenges on Hero Arts, mostly because the categories each week didn't really suit my 'style'. So instead I was making some cards just for FUN!

I was feeling a little Asian inspired this weekend, the past couple of weeks I had picked up the "Asian Elements" set from Hero Arts, and the "Asian by Design" set from Inkadinkado.

First the Inkadinkado set:

The bamboo on this set is a little larger than most stamps, so the I had to make a card to accommodate it. I think it's 6"x4.25". The red square is a seal stamp my dad made me (& for those of you wondering its my name in Chinese)

Now with the left over green card stock from the card above, I made this 2"x 4.25" card, with the Asian Elements stamps. I also used some clear glaze to make the owl pop out & shine!

This cute card was for our niece who turned one a week ago, not the best picture I could have taken- the light was off (probably because it was about midnight when I was taking it!)
Supplies: Yours to Take (Penny Black), Soft Swirls (Stampin' Up!)

Next post, pictures from a Stampin Up! class...

Thanks for stopping by!
