Happy Friday (again)... 2nd post of the day, 1st post HERE!
So here is my final card of the new Sister Stamps new release: Sakuras! I love sakura flowers and hope that someday I'll be able to see the cherry blossoms festival in D.C.!
I wasn't quite sure of what I wanted to do with this set when I received it.. but it wasn't long after seeing Jennifer McGuire share a new technique of coloring with pigment inks (since I also just acquired some Memento Luxe ink pads) that this idea immediately popped to mind...
I had left a group of the solid sakura rubber stamps together (instead of cutting out each individual one) to stamp the left side using white pigment ink. I then went back with a paper stump- since that's all I have on hand, and colored this inside of the sakuras in Memento Luxe Ink Lilac Posies & adding dots of Love Letter ink to the centers. I also colored the leaves in Pear Tart ink. There were still a few bare spots so I went back with some of the open line sakuras stamps to fill in with versamark ink & some more DIY enamel dots! Sentiment is from Winnie & Walter (The Big, the Bold, & the Happy)
Here's another view of the coloring
and it turns out this matches the photo for Winnie & Walter's Playdate #2 challenge too!
