ISS Wednesday Challenge: Brown & Blue!!

Today was my turn to host again on the InStyle Stamps blog-only this time for the Wednesday Challenge- did you know that there's a challenge there with a prize every Wednesday?

This week's challenge is a color challenge- and using my FAVORITE color combination BROWN & BLUE! (I'm a little partial since they were also my wedding colors)

For my card, I used Ava Floating, I colored her using Copics (of course!) and added Stickles to her wings for some added sparkle & bling! The sentiment is computer generated with a free font I downloaded from dafont.com.

A close up to see her sparkly wings! :)

I also used a Sakura Stardust pen to add some sparkle to the sentiment- which is difficult to see in the picture, but I swear it's there!

Supplies:
- Ava Floating (
InStyle Stamps)
-
DB Clouds (Hero Arts)
- Scalloped/Circle nestabilities (
Spellbinders)
- Patterned Paper (
American Crafts)
- Stickles (
Ranger)
- ribbon, clear gems, chocolate pearls, buttons
- Copic markers

Thanks for visiting- and go check out the Wednesday Challenge on ISS- you could win a digital image of your choice!!

Post-It™ Note holder crazy!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to stop in to tell you how crazy I am! After I did the tutorial over the weekend, I was a little Post-It™ Note holder happy and made a bunch of them! I thought they would make cute gifts to give my mom & sisters to keep in their purses (that way we can never forget anything again!)

Here are some I made with Mieko- including the one from the tutorial, I still need to make at least one more too! (notice that I rounded the outside corners)

And of course I couldn't go without making some of these for my nieces & nephew! Thought they would love to have them in their backpacks- or just for fun. For these I used Ava Leaning and Nathan!

Thanks for stopping in! Check out the ISS blog today for a new challenge hosted by none other than my sis Maylee- you can play along to win a free digi of your choice!

Please come back tomorrow too- I'll have a few more sneak peeks before the ISS blog hop & image release on Friday!

ISS Method Monday!

Hello!

Today was my turn on the InStyle Stamps blog to host "Method Monday". For those of you new to ISS- Every Monday, all the fabulous DT members have a turn to share a tutorial on a fun method or technique. This was actually my first time doing a tutorial so I hope everything is clear!

I found this Post-It™ Note Holder project on a great resource, Splitcoast Stampers and thought it would be perfect!

First, the supplies:
- (1) 4"x7" piece of card stock
- (3) 3" x 3¾" pieces of card stock
- (3) 2¾" x 3½" pieces of patterned paper
- (1) ¼" x 1½" piece of card stock
- (2) 5" strips of ribbon
- (1) small pencil or pen
- Post-It™ Notes
- Strong adhesive tape (I used red-line tape)
- Dimensional adhesive (Pop-dots)
- Scoring tool (I used a Scor-Pal)
- Scissors
- Stamped & colored image
- Embellishments

Step 1: With the 4"x7" piece of card stock, Score on the long side at 3¼" from both sides.

Step 2: Fold on both score lines to form a ½" spine.

Step 3: Mat each piece of patterned paper on the 3" x 3¾" pieces of card stock.

Step 4: Adhere one of the matted pieces to the front of the folded cover.

Step 5: Using the red-line tape secure the ribbon in the center of the inside cover.

Step 6: Adhere the other 2 matted pieces of patterned paper to the inside to cover the ribbon ends.

Step 7: Take the backing sheet off of the Post-It™ Notes and place them in the bottom right corner.

Step 8: Take the ¼" x 1½" piece of card stock and wrap it around the pen/pencil and adhere the ends together.

Step 9: Using the red-line tape, place & stick the card stock loop to the base of the cover, under the Post-It™ Notes.

Step 10: Close the holder and tie the ribbon in a bow.

Step 11: Decorate the front! I colored and trimmed out Meiko, mounted her with pop dots to a scalloped square. I also added "Notes" using diecut letters.

Thanks for stopping by- I hope you give the Post-It™ Note Holder a try!
(Please let me know if you have any questions!)
