Shake, Shake, Shake!

Happy Friday!

A few weeks ago, Hero Arts had a windows challenge and featured a video on how to make a shaker card. I knew I wanted to try to make one, but didn't get around to it until the other night. And with a request from my 3 year old niece who wanted a bear card that was pink & green (how am I supposed to say no to that?) it was a perfect opportunity to try it out! I had this cute bear already colored just sitting and waiting to be used too- I added the grass and sky and voila!

Here is a look at the beads inside the window box that make it a shaker card

Supplies: Straw Hat Bear (Penny Black), All Occasion Messages (Hero Arts), Swiss Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug-Provocraft), Scalloped Square diecut (Nestabilities-Spellbinders), Prima flowers, American Crafts ribbon, Copic Markers

Let's play Leapfrog!

Short & quick post tonight, I usually wait until the weekend for my posting since it's the only time I have daylight to take good photos in- but I was home early from work and couldn't wait to share!

I was a little reluctant entering this week's contest on Hero Arts, "windows" were the theme and I was finding myself stumped for an 'original' idea. Until that is I saw Megan's card here and I had to get those cute little froggies and the idea just came to me!

My take on a spinning card- I attached a large scalloped circle with a brad to allow for the spinning action. It peeks out a bit on the right side so you have a 'handle' to spin.

Here is a look at each of the images you see in the circle window as you spin the wheel:

Supplies: Ink 'n Stamp Lily Pad Messages, All Occasion Messages (Hero Arts), Scalloped Circle diecuts (Nestabilities-Spellbinders), Scallop border punch (Stampin' Up!), Prima flowers, Bazzill Basics Swiss dotted cardstock, Circle punch (EK Success), Copic Markers

A little squirrel-y

Blog hopping is an excellent way to search for great "new-to-me" ideas! This is where I found this fabulous version of a spinner card on Dawn's page, it's a twist on the standard spinner that goes across your card in a straight line. Why I never thought to try this before is beyond me, always coming up with great ideas after someone else already has! Alright, onto the card, the spinner (i.e. the squirrel) runs along the top portion of the tree.

Just a quick post today- thanks for stopping by!

Enabled & Inspired

Over the weekend, I had been doing my usual blog hopping and had seen this great tutorial on Kiyomi Krafts. I wanted to give it a try and this was my first attempt:
The box:

Supplies: Scroll Tree (Hero Arts)

Here is how the box opens up, with the cards inside:

and the individual card, all four in the set are the same:

Supplies: Flourish (EK Success)

I didn't stop there! I then found my way over to Lauren Meader's blog, and she discovered a great find at Target! Naturally, it made me want to go out and find for myself as well! The discovery? Disney Princess clear stamps!

I had just stamped and colored the princesses before I knew what I wanted to do with them before I made another matching set of cards in a box.

Supplies: Tiara (EK Success)
Princess cards:

Individual "close-ups"

Supplies: Princesses (EK Success)

Whew! I had a busy weekend- but loads of fun stamping away! Let's hope for another productive crafting week- my goal this week is to get back into working on some scrapbook pages that have pushed to the back burner with my recent surge of cards!

Until next time- Happy Stamping!

Pop goes the wha...?

I had tons of fun researching for this week's Hero Arts challenge- Interactive cards! Learned some new tricks and great cards that I'm sure to make again!

Stamps: Flourish Flower, ClearDesign Tree, Bird & Messages (both Hero Arts)

A bit of a different take on the spinner cards, I made similar card for a friend's baby shower- on the card that slides out I had attached a gift card:

Stamps: ClearDesign Playful Animals, ClearDesign Designer Alphabet (both Hero Arts)

Untie the ribbon and pull to get this special message: A double slide, pull the ribbon at the top and you get a double surprise!

Stamps: ClearDesign Playful Animals, ClearDesign Tree, Birds & Messages, ClearDesign Alphabet

Probably my favorite one I made for this challenge....

Stamps: SparkleClear Coffee (Hero Arts)

I pulled this one out for the challenge at the last minute:

Stamps: ClearDesign Cupcake (Hero Arts)

Hopefully one of these cards will win me some goodies!

One more inchie for the road... I remembered I had this stamp set from Impression Obsession- they are all 'inchie' size!
