Back to Back Birthdays!

Hello again!

A couple of my friends had birthdays last week, I waited a few days to make sure they recieved them before I posted.

This super cute Rock Star Anya is so fun to color! I also entered this card in the "Dotty Spotty" challenge on the Greeting Farm. I don't have many of these images yet- but hope to add more to my collection soon!

Supplies: Rock Star Anya (The Greeting Farm), Swiss dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug), Scalloped Circle nestabilities (Spellbinders), Scalloped scallop border punch (EK Success), ba-ba black sheep collection/'little boy' (Piggy Tales), Prima flowers, Stickles, Alpha stickers (American Crafts), Copic Markers

The dragon pirate is a Dustin Pike image- he draws the cutest characters! I used some distress ink techniques that Jennifer McGuire demonstrates on the Thinking Inking class on Two Peas in a Bucket.

Supplies: Dragon pirate (Dustin Pike), Design Block Birthday (Hero Arts), Distress Inks- Faded Jeans (Ranger), twine, button, Copic Markers,

Happy Birthday to my friends!

It's Complementary!

Back again! I had a few more ideas for the 'complementary' challenge on Hero Arts that popped into my head this morning that I just had to do before the deadline was over! :)

The card base on this one is for the red & green color combination. I tried to make it not look to "Christmas-y" with different shades of green and dark red on the doll's clothes.

Supplies: Decorative Bamboo; Asian Dolls; Chinese Dolls (Hero Arts), Scalloped scallop border punch (EK Success), ribbon, buttons, Copic markers

Blue & Orange! These colors just scream summer to me... and with this 100+ degree weather we've been having here- it's definitely summer!

Supplies: Asian Frames; Big All Time Greetings (Hero Arts), Inkssentials white gel pen (Ranger), Sticklestwine, buttons, Copic Markers

Hope you all had a great weekend! Thanks for stopping in!

Together...

Forever!

I had more motivation from doing my last scrapbook page, to do another! I had been wanting to do something similar for awhile now and with Hero Arts' latest 'complementary' color challenge it gave me the perfect opportunity!

This is a photo from the tea ceremony at my wedding. I thought the black & white photo with a punch of color from the red envelope is a great effect. It's one of my favorite photo from the wedding, and I love the way the page turned out!
Together

I stamped the black cardstock with a design block stamp in watermark dazzle frost ink. It was hard for me to take a good picture of the background- this was the best shot I could get!

Supplies: Asian Dolls; DesignBlock Stencil (both Hero Arts), Paper flower (Making Memories), Scallop border punch (Stampin' Up!), Thickers alpha stickers (American Crafts), Pearl gems, Copic Markers
Thanks for stopping in!

Birthday Flowers...

For my mother-in-law, today is her birthday!

I'm still addicted to using kraft paper, and my white gel pen for faux stitching- I just love the look it gives a completed card!

Something different to share this time, a scrapbook page!

I'm working on incorporating more of my stamping into my layouts... I'm not sure why I kept them separate for so long!

Scribbles This! #2

Ok.. last one for the day! ;)

I had so much fun with Lisa Spangler's first Scribble This challenge that I couldn't wait for the next one!

This time we learned how to adjust the levels using a photo editing software (I used Photoshop Elements) to make the grayish hues look like the true white they should be! Here are my before & after photos of my card.

I also took my card outside for a photoshoot too ;)

Supplies: Flower Branch with Owl; All Occasion Messages; Clouds (Hero Arts), Dew Drops (Robin's Egg), Caramel Latte Tan fun flock (Stampendous), Scalloped Scallop border punch (EK Success), Swiss Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug), string, buttons, Copic Markers

Until next time- thanks for stopping in!

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #9

Glad I had a chance to participate in the color challenge this time and look forward to more!

Hiya Anya!

What a Doll!

Hi again! I'm still playing with these super cute Chinese dolls-I made this card for the diecut challenge over on the Hero Arts blog.

Supplies: Asian Dolls (Hero Arts), Alissa Twirls patterned paper (Bo Bunny), Rectangle & Scalloped Rectangle nestabilities (Spellbinders), Stylized Flowers embossing folder; 2x6 Flowers diecut (Cuttlebug), Inkssentials white gel pen (Ranger), gems, Copic Markers

I layered two sets rectangle & scalloped rectangle nestabilities diecuts with some dimension in between and under the doll as well. I had also experimented awhile ago with my Cuttlebug and some sticky-back felt and found out that it worked perfectly! I cut 2 flowers and layered them under the button.

I still have another idea up my sleeve for this challenge- I'm hoping that I'll have time before this weekend is over to make it!

Thanks for stopping in!

Happy Birthday...

To my dear friend and fellow stamper, Megan!

Her birthday was on Wednesday- but of course I had to give her the card before I could post it! She's has her own slight 'obsession' with kraft paper just like I do- so it was only fitting that I use it on her card!

Supplies: Heart-winged Butterfly; Big All Time Greetings (Hero Arts), Stylized flower embossing folder (Cuttlebug), Scalloped Scallop border punch (EK Success), Inkssentials white gel pen (Ranger), Prima flowers, Ribbon, twine, gems, Copic markers

Happy Birthday Megan- hope you had a fabulous day!

A Monkey Wish

Hello again! This is probably the most often that I have updated my blog in a weekend!

We went to a surprise 30th birthday party for a good friend last night, her birthday isn't actually for another 2 weeks so she was definitely surprised! She loves monkeys, so it was only fitting that I made a card with the monkey holding a 3 and a 0!

I added an extra layer of dimension to some of the leaves & the monkey's head. I also added some tan flocking to make the monkey soft & fuzzy!

Supplies: Mindy's Zoo (Autumn Leaves), DesignBlock Clouds; Basic Alphabet (both Hero Arts), Rectangle nestabilities (Spellbinders), Double Scallop border punch (Martha Stewart), Caramel Latte Tan Fun Flock (Stampendous), Copic Markers

Thanks for coming back!

Friends Forever

I finally got my hands (and some ink!) on these ADORABLE dolls from Hero Arts.. another addition to their Asian dolls line- I just had to have them- who could resist?

I haven't participated in the Mojo Monday sketches as much as I would like to and hope to make it a more regular occurrence. I had scraps left over from the card on my 2S4Y post and loved the color combination so much I used it again!

Here is the sketch:

Here is my card-

Supplies: Asian Dolls; All Occasion Messages; DesignBlock Clouds (both Hero Arts), Alissa Twirls patterned paper (Bo Bunny), Swiss Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug), Prima flowers, pearls, buttons, ribbon, Copic Markers

Aren't they the cutest?! It's a bit hard to tell from the picture (you can click on either to make them larger) but I curved each one of the dolls a bit so they didn't look so "flat."

Until next time- thanks for stopping in!

I came across this patterned paper by Bo Bunny while at my LSS a few days ago and knew exactly what I wanted to do for this card, I had time last night to put it all together!

Here is the sketch designed by Laura:

And here is a close up of the butterflies- I added a little sparkle on their wings!

Supplies: Heart-winged Butterfly (Hero Arts), Alissa Twirls patterned paper (Bo Bunny), Birds & Swirls embossing folder (Cuttlebug), Scallop border punch (Stampin' Up!), pearls, Making memories flower, button, twine, Copic Markers
