I had colored her up last week with the intention of putting the card together over the weekend... when what should happen that she decides to play a game of hide & seek! Ack.. so I had to color (& paper piece) another copy to share!  I'm sure the first one will pop up at any time now...

Anyway- here's my card! I took the mini cupcake stamp from the set to make the background in Versamark ink, layered on some of the matching papers from her dress...

Farm Fresh: Background

Happy Friday!

It's Friday and you know what that means... Farm Fresh Friday Challenge @The Greeting Farm!  This week  my team-mate Marcy is hosting and she choose to the theme to be "Make Your Own Background!" This was definitely a fun one for me as I have been having lots of fun playing with my distress inks and figuring out some new-to-me techniques!

For my card I embossed some cardstock using my cuttlebug and took some various shades of blue distress inks (salty ocean, broken china, tumbled glass, faded denim) and rubbed them directly onto the embossed cardstock- carefully so that just he raised portions would get inked.  I also spritzed some water to get a marble-y speckled look...

FFF: background

Finished it off with a sweet freckled Guitar Ian, a sentiment and my favorite embellishments of the moment-washi tape & enamel dots!

Next week is my week to host the FFF- so stay tuned! But until then check out The Greeting Farm blog for all the ddets on this week's challenge!

Summer Time is here!!

Hello! Happy Tuesday peeps!

I'm back again to share some of my recent Chi Chi Memories cards...

First, is one that I meant to share this weekend when the freebie went live- but as the weekend came and went I had little computer time on my schedule! So I hope you marked your calendars and were able to pick up this superstar Funky Girl while she was free! Not to worry if you didn't, you can find her here! For this card, I used the sketch for the CCM June Challenge:

With her fabulous star shades I was feeling a little patriotic vibe and went with it...
CCM freebie

My second card is one of my favorites, since we're hitting the beach this summer this beach boy is just perfect...

CCM Sending Sunshine

This super cute surfer can be found in this set here or own his own here! I colored him with some darker skin tones to give him a nice golden tan look :)  (if you're interested in the copics I used let me know- I can post them, I just don't have my little cheat sheet handy at the moment!)

Well thanks for hanging in for my long post today! Enjoy your day & Happy Summer!

The Cutting Edge

So excited to find out about this new challenge blog, The Cutting Edge Challenge, this weekend!

Their first challenge has a guest designer spot opportunity- how could I *not* give it a shot?  I've been loving my die-cuts more and more, and why else do I need an excuse to play with them?! LOL

We were to choose one of the design team members to be inspired by and of course use die cutting.  I was inspired by the fabulous Amy Kolling and her amazing card on the bottom left

Using some washi tape, MFT Plentiful Petals diecuts, and Simon Says Stamp Happy diecut I came up with this...

Cutting Edge Challenge

I cut the flowers using watercolor paper and smeared them in distress inks and sprinkled water drops. I also layered the happy die a couple of times to give it some more dimension.

I had a ton of funny with this challenge and can't wait to play along in future challenges too!

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Monday!!

Pencil Me In!

Happy Friday!!

This week's Farm Fresh Friday @The Greeting Farm is brought to you by my fellow design team member, Kristina!  & she challenged us to use colored pencils!  Since I got my copics I have to admit my colored pencils have been slightly neglected and this was just the challenge I needed to expand my coloring mediums again!

I think I'm still in need of some practice, but this is what I came up with using some Prismacolor pencils and OMS (odorless mineral spirits aka gamsol etc..) using one of my favorites from the Miss Anya Summer set...

FFF Pencils

Digging into my stash of papers, washi tape and enamel dots I called this card done! :)

Be sure to check out what the rest of the team created this week at The Greeting Farm blog & hope to see you join us too!

Birthday Wishes

Today is a good friend of mine's birthday!

She's a big Harry Potter fan (I mean who isn't?!) so when I saw this ADORABLE Harry Potter owl from 2 Cute Ink- I just had to have him!!

Playing along with the 2 Cute Ink birthday challenge and the sketch challenge at Deconstructed Sketch (#154) I put together this!

HP Owl

Happy Birthday Megan!!

Love You Bunches!

I'm back again to share with you another one of Chi Chi Memories' new June releases!  This week I made a card with this darling Good Day image... I love these balloon images and paired with this sweet girl and her puffy piggy tails she is definitely one of my favorites from the release!

IMG_7299

I kept my card pretty simple as I wanted the sweet image to be the main focus! Colored with copics (of course!) I also added glossy accents to the balloons for some added shine! :)

(copic color list coming soon...)

Scraplings 2 of 2!

I couldn't help but to make another- can you spot my recycled item?

Oh the places you'll go...
Did you figure it out?  It's the clouds- I die cut them from a dry inky baby wipe I used to clean up my inky fingers and stamps!  I inked the background piece with distress inks on watercolor paper, added some water drops & more washi tape, and called it done! :) This one could be easily used as a bookmark too- I just didn't add the magnetic strips.

Hoping to have some more time to make some more scraplings soon...

Virginia's View: Scraplings! (1 of 2)

So I wasn't sure that I would participate (or have the time to) in Virginia's View Challenge (Tags & Scraplings) this month... but after seeing some awesome scraplings made my her guest designer, the fabulous Donna Mikasa!

I was totally inspired and had some ideas pop into my head late last night (I finished at midnight!) So my first 'scrapling' is a bit of a combination of something I've been wanting to try for a little while- shaker cards! Since part of the challenge was also to use some recycled items I used some clear acetate from some packaging as the window to my shaker card.  I used silver glittery washi tape to make my shaker filled with sequins!

Floral bookmark
The black piece you see inside the card is a magnet- I also put one behind the shaker card panel to make it a magnetic bookmark! I LOVE this stamp after making this card with it and just had to use it again!

I'm also adding this to the It's Not in the Cards challenge over at A Blog Named Hero!

Posting in a few to show my second scrapling that I made... (can't post 2 of the same link on the challenge inlinkz!)

FFF: Pop of Color!

Happy Friday!!

I'm back again with this week's Farm Fresh Friday challenge! (sorry I'm late!!)

This week Jodi chose the theme of black and white with a POP of color... I immediately thought of these old cheeky images I have and had to revisit coloring her in gray tones and a striking RED dress!

Hello Gorgeous!

(again paired with my favorite sentiments from Winnie & Walter- The Big, the Bold and the Happy!)

Now head on over to The Greeting Farm blog and check out how to enter and see more fab inspiration from the design team!

FORE!!

Father's Day is just around the corner so I'm attempting to be prepared and have them done early this year!

When I saw the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays was masculine cards- it was just the nudge I needed!  Kraft is usually my "go-to" for guy cards, but NO KRAFT is allowed AND we had to add ribbon! This got me thinking and here is what I came up with using the golf cart from Paper Smooches My Guy...

Fore!

I tried die-cutting ribbon and IT WORKED- Sweet! :) I also diecut the triangle to make it look like the golf flagsticks that mark where the hole is.

I'm also entering this in Paper Smooches' Anything Goes challenge this week!

Until tomorrow... happy stamping!
