Let's play Leapfrog!

Short & quick post tonight, I usually wait until the weekend for my posting since it's the only time I have daylight to take good photos in- but I was home early from work and couldn't wait to share!

I was a little reluctant entering this week's contest on Hero Arts, "windows" were the theme and I was finding myself stumped for an 'original' idea. Until that is I saw Megan's card here and I had to get those cute little froggies and the idea just came to me!

My take on a spinning card- I attached a large scalloped circle with a brad to allow for the spinning action. It peeks out a bit on the right side so you have a 'handle' to spin.

Here is a look at each of the images you see in the circle window as you spin the wheel:

Supplies: Ink 'n Stamp Lily Pad Messages, All Occasion Messages (Hero Arts), Scalloped Circle diecuts (Nestabilities-Spellbinders), Scallop border punch (Stampin' Up!), Prima flowers, Bazzill Basics Swiss dotted cardstock, Circle punch (EK Success), Copic Markers

Spring is in the air!

Spring is definitely in the air here in Arizona! We've been 'experiencing' lovely 80 to 90 degree weather here this last week. Just in time for this week's challenge on Hero Arts!

Catching up on posting for the week today- was gone for a few days last week on vacation and don't quite get enough sunlight to take good photos when get home from work late! Be sure scroll down to see all the things I've been working on this week!

This first card I tried to get finished in time for Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration challenge- but didn't quite make the cut off time- but it still fits in with the Spring motif!

Supplies: Heart-winged butterfly, Patterned Hearts (Hero ArtsI), Scallop border punch (Stampin' Up!), Prima flowers, gems & pearls

I just loved this bear stamped the first time I saw him...

Supplies: Bouquet Bear, Dots, Take Good Care Greetings (Hero Arts), Scalloped rectangle diecut (Nestabilities- Spellbinders), Scallop border punch (Stampin' Up!), Prima flowers, Copic markers

Supplies: DesignBlock Outline flowers, Thoughtful Messages (Hero Arts), Scallop border punch (Stampin' Up!), Ribbon (American Crafts), Copic markers

And what's a spring card without me using one of the four dolls? I had gone to Michael's a few weeks back and found these 3-dimensional stickers and instantly had the idea to use the doll set with them!

Supplies: Four Dolls, Windy Tree (Hero Arts), Everything Happy (Stampendous), 3D lantern stickers (K & Company), Prima flowers, Gems (Hero Arts), Copic markers

I've still got a few more cards in the works (in my head) that I'd like to get down on paper before they disappear but until then... Keep on scrolling for more!

Celebrate- Elephant style!

Our neighbor's son turned 1 this week! I wanted to continue using more of my new stamps- and really wanted to use this elephant set and some new patterned paper Megan had given me for my birthday :) (Thanks Meg!).

I was feeling crunched for a layout and decided to turn to Taylored Expressions for some inspiration! Her sketch this week turned out to be a perfect fit!

Supplies: ClearDesign Elephants, All Ocassion Messages (Hero Arts), Scalloped & Oval diecuts (Nestabilities-Spellbinders), Scallop border punch (Stampin' Up!), Copic markers, All Boy patterned paper (DCWV paper stack)

March Birthdays!

March is a big month for birthdays in my family! Since I was on vacation last weekend and part of the week- it was enough time for me to have the birthdays pass and give enough time before I could post on here!

First, my sister's birthday was exactly week ago today. To celebrate we went to Disneyland! Had a ton of fun and so great to experience it with my 3 year old niece- she got to meet the princesses & Mickey! Anyway, back to the card- I recieved some stamped images from (another) sister and just love this one from Penny Black. I'm loving creating these little scenes lately :)

Supplies: Cinnamon (Penny Black), DesignBlock Outline Flowers (Hero Arts), Rectangle & Scalloped Rectangle diecuts (Nestabilities- Spellbinders), Copic Markers

My sister-in-law also has a birthday this month, and using more from the stash of stamped images my sister swapped with me included this super cute Riley stamp!

Supplies: DesignBlock Outline Flowers, SparkleClear Sweet Moments (Hero Arts), Baking Riley (Hanna Stamps), Scalloped Square diecut (Nestabilities-Spellbinders), Scallop border punch (Stampin' Up!), Prima flowers, Copics

A friend in the family turned the big 3-0 this month too! She's a purse lover and LOVES pink & black. I had the perfect idea when mom asked me to make a card for her!

Supplies: Say Charge (My Favorite Things), It's a Girl Thing (Stampin' Up!), Scalloped Square diecut (Nestabilities- Spellbinders), Copic markers

Keep scrolling for one last post....

Is there a nurse in the house?

A good friend of my sister's is starting nursing school soon and she asked me to make a card to commemorate the occassion & wish her good luck. I don't have any nurse related stamps in my stash, so I decided to find a cute nurse cap image online and manipulate it to use with a stamp I did have and came up with this...

Supplies: Yours to take! (Penny Black); All Occasion Messages (Hero Arts), Scallop circle diecut (Nestabilities-Spellbinders)

Thanks for catching up with me!

Color Inspirations & Little Things!

This week's challenge on Hero Arts was to make something with little things (1.5" or smaller). After last week's mass productivity- I was a little crafted out and it took me some more time to figure out what to do.

This first card also falls into the color pallette for Kristina Werner's color inspiration challenge too! I love pairing up different colors with dark brown and especially pink! Here was this week's color pallette:

I pulled out these patterned butterflies that I've had for awhile, but haven't seen as much ink as they should!

Supplies: Patterned Butterflies & All Occasion Messages (both Hero Arts), ribbon, gems

This card just fell together while as I was making it- I love when that happens!

Supplies: Whoo Loves You?; Live it Up, So Sweet, All Occasion Messages (all Hero Arts), Scalloped Rectangle Nestabilities, Stickles, Copic Markers

Thanks for looking!

Kristina Werner Color Challenge #43

Hope you are all having a fabulous weekend- it's just a beautiful sunny 80 degree here in AZ!

As if the cards I did in the previous post weren't enough for the week, I decided to squeeze in one more- Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration Challenge. I had always been lurking at these challenges from a distance- I thought this time I would just give it a try! I tend to fall into routines with the color combinations that I use. This color challenge put me to the test- while I had all the colors, I would not have thought to put them all together on one card.

Here is the color combination:

I badly wanted to ink up this Hero Arts set since I got it, and am pretty happy with the end result!

Supplies: What's Cooking (Hero Arts), Split Pea & Sweet Tomato dots paper (Lasting Impressions), Scallop border punch (Stampin' Up!), Copic markers

I had a lot of fun with this challenge, and intend on participating in some more!

Thanks for stopping by!
