Stampin' Up! 101020

Last week Megan & I went to a Stampin' Up! 101020 class, as she mentioned on her blog, for as long as we've known each other and as much as we talk about all things crafty- it was the first time that we were crafty together! It was a lot of fun, and we made a some really cute cards.

(All the cards were designed by the demonstrator & host, Rhonda)

The last card was the only one I didn't really like what I did in the class, I came home and made some minor tweaks, and it became this:

(And for those curious, one or more stamps from each of these sets were used to make these:
Cheers to You, Big Bold Birthday, Flight of the Butterfly, Inspired by Nature, Upsy Daisy, Say it with Scallops, Thank You Kindly, Heard from the Heart, Flower Fancy, & Punches Three)

It was a great fun- can't wait for the next one. But for now- to decide which ones I want to get... Decisions! Decisions!

Until next time!

Just for FUN!

I decided to take a bit of a break from the challenges on Hero Arts, mostly because the categories each week didn't really suit my 'style'. So instead I was making some cards just for FUN!

I was feeling a little Asian inspired this weekend, the past couple of weeks I had picked up the "Asian Elements" set from Hero Arts, and the "Asian by Design" set from Inkadinkado.

First the Inkadinkado set:

The bamboo on this set is a little larger than most stamps, so the I had to make a card to accommodate it. I think it's 6"x4.25". The red square is a seal stamp my dad made me (& for those of you wondering its my name in Chinese)

Now with the left over green card stock from the card above, I made this 2"x 4.25" card, with the Asian Elements stamps. I also used some clear glaze to make the owl pop out & shine!

This cute card was for our niece who turned one a week ago, not the best picture I could have taken- the light was off (probably because it was about midnight when I was taking it!)
Supplies: Yours to Take (Penny Black), Soft Swirls (Stampin' Up!)

Next post, pictures from a Stampin Up! class...

Enabled & Inspired

Over the weekend, I had been doing my usual blog hopping and had seen this great tutorial on Kiyomi Krafts. I wanted to give it a try and this was my first attempt:
The box:

Supplies: Scroll Tree (Hero Arts)

Here is how the box opens up, with the cards inside:

and the individual card, all four in the set are the same:

Supplies: Flourish (EK Success)

I didn't stop there! I then found my way over to Lauren Meader's blog, and she discovered a great find at Target! Naturally, it made me want to go out and find for myself as well! The discovery? Disney Princess clear stamps!

I had just stamped and colored the princesses before I knew what I wanted to do with them before I made another matching set of cards in a box.

Supplies: Tiara (EK Success)
Princess cards:

Individual "close-ups"

Supplies: Princesses (EK Success)

Whew! I had a busy weekend- but loads of fun stamping away! Let's hope for another productive crafting week- my goal this week is to get back into working on some scrapbook pages that have pushed to the back burner with my recent surge of cards!

Until next time- Happy Stamping!

Holidays Already? *UPDATED*

I found this week's challenge on the Hero Arts blog a little harder than some of the others. We had to create holiday themed cards- with it still being 100°F out, I found it a bit difficult to get into the holiday 'mood'! But I pulled out my Christmas-y/wintery stamps and created these:

Supplies: ClearDesign Joyful Greetings (Hero Arts), Swiss Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug-Provocraft), Scallopped Squares (Nestabilities-Spellbinders)

Supplies: Santa's Hat; Santa's Coat; Santa's Boots; Holiday Messages with Bracket (all Hero Arts); Snowflakes embossing folder (Cuttlebug-Provocraft), Liquid Applique (Marvy Uchida)

Supplies: Winter Penguin; Good Cheer (both Hero Arts); D'vine Swirls embossing folder (Cuttlebug-Provocraft)

Supplies: Scroll Tree; flourishes from ClearDesign Joyful Greetings (Hero Arts); Liquid Applique (Marvy Uchida)

I also did this one for the challenge too- just didn't have it finished when I posted the others here:

Supplies: Scroll Tree (Hero Arts); Stickles glittler glue

**Here is another one that I did in the last few days, Hero Arts is also doing a contest to win a day on the blog in December with one of the artists, we just have to use products from the Winter 2008 catalog... with that said, I went to my local stamp store and picked up this one and was playing with my Cuttlebug and tried it with a piece of acetate/transparency- I really like how it turned out!

Supplies: ClearDesign Jolly Christmas (Hero Arts), Snowflake embossing folder (Cuttlebug-Provocraft)
