No Challenges Here!

So I thought I would take the opportunity to post a card I've done that is not-challenge/contest related- just for fun!

This card I made for a friend of mine, to give to his mom for her birthday. She likes giraffes, so hopefully she will like this card too!

Stamps: ClearDesign Playful Animals (Hero Arts), Bloom Dots embossing folder (Cuttlebug-Provocraft)

I've also made some baby shower invite samples.. but have some tweaks to make them a little better and easier if I have to mass produce!

Until the next post....

Here was my entry to last week's Wrap-around Challenge on Hero Arts. It took me longer than usual to come up with the idea for this card.. but I'm happy with how it turned out!

Ahh.. to be organized!

For awhile now, I've been thinking of ways to better organize some of my things- and just recently did a little re-org to my clear stamps. Before I kept them in their original plastic packaging and in a basket (intended for CDs) and flipped thru them until I found the one I wanted. Well now..

I found these clear plastic DVD cases at my local office supply store. I kept both the clear printed acetate and the card that came with the packaging, slipped it in the front and the back to keep it all together. Printed out the name & company of each stamp set onto clear mailing labels and stuck those on the spines of the cases. I bought the same kind of cases in CD size for the smaller sets I own- I haven't gotten to these yet...

I am loving this "system"- I feel more productive being organized (though it doesn't always show when I'm crafting :)) much easier when I can actually find what I need!

Now.. what's next in line to re-organize?

OUT with the old.. IN with the new

A few days ago I decided to take to my stash of cards I'd made in the past- way back when I FIRST started stamping... I decided that they were kinda boring and bland and in much need of a facelift! What better way to do that than with some inchies and the CUTTLEBUG (I love this machine-it is so awesome!)

and of course I didn't think about taking before & after pictures until I had already pulled everything apart! Oh well...

Thanks for stopping by!

Another Challenge- Poetic Artistry

So as if Hero Arts weekly challenges and Taylor's Cupcake Challenges weren't enough- I came upon another great blog that has Mojo Monday Sketch Challenges!

Here is my card:

Stamps: Hummingbird (Magenta); 'Best wishes' sentiment (Penny Black); Stylized Flower embossing folder (Cuttlebug)

The hummingbird is mounted on pop dots, I added diamond stickles to the tips of the wings and tail for that added sparkle! and paper glaze on the red throat

Thanks for a fun sketch Julee!

Taylor's Cupcake Challenge #23

Another great sketch from Taylored Expressions, here's my take on the sketch:

Stamps: ClearDesign Cupcake; Cuttlebug Embossing Folder- D'vine Swirls

Since it was announced yesterday, on the 4th of July- I went a bit patriotic and used red, white & blue, with white fabric puff paint & diamond stickles for the icing.

Thanks for another great sketch!

Pop goes the wha...?

I had tons of fun researching for this week's Hero Arts challenge- Interactive cards! Learned some new tricks and great cards that I'm sure to make again!

Stamps: Flourish Flower, ClearDesign Tree, Bird & Messages (both Hero Arts)

A bit of a different take on the spinner cards, I made similar card for a friend's baby shower- on the card that slides out I had attached a gift card:

Stamps: ClearDesign Playful Animals, ClearDesign Designer Alphabet (both Hero Arts)

Untie the ribbon and pull to get this special message: A double slide, pull the ribbon at the top and you get a double surprise!

Stamps: ClearDesign Playful Animals, ClearDesign Tree, Birds & Messages, ClearDesign Alphabet

Probably my favorite one I made for this challenge....

Stamps: SparkleClear Coffee (Hero Arts)

I pulled this one out for the challenge at the last minute:

Stamps: ClearDesign Cupcake (Hero Arts)

Hopefully one of these cards will win me some goodies!

One more inchie for the road... I remembered I had this stamp set from Impression Obsession- they are all 'inchie' size!
